Sue Carboon ADAPEF
Sue has more than 14 years experience in Development and has raised in excess of $5 million dollars for various campaigns both locally and overseas. She has a proven talent for innovation tempered with a solid grasp of the practicalities involved in translating ideas into reality.
Moving from a volunteer within local community organisations to administration then into advancement, Sue has developed a deep understanding of the needs of organisations investing in creating a philanthropic culture.
Her superior knowledge of contemporary fundraising practices has seen many of her strategies implemented throughout the broader Independent School community in South Australia.
She has secured grants and funding, hosted and managed high profile special events and built synergistic and cohesive teams to achieve organizational objectives. In her role with a number of Independent schools such as Loreto, Mercedes, Seymour and Concordia Colleges, Sue has secured corporate sponsorship, conducted numerous feasibility studies, project managed major capital campaigns and worked with boards and volunteer committees.
She has highly developed administration skills honed in a diverse range of organisations and a demonstrated ability to provide leadership in a variety of industries.
From winning the Young Film Makers Award through to raising funds for the Glycogen Storage Disease Association in the United Kingdom, Sue has worked as a fundraiser, director of development, recruitment officer, promotional video maker, in-flight catering manager and receptionist. She has experience in the education, medical and tourism industries.
Sue holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a Major in Media Studies from the University of South Australia and worked for the University upon graduation as a Production Manager/Director.
She is a past President and Fellow of the Association of Development and Alumni Professionals in Education (ADAPE) and is affiliated with the Compton International Institute – Capital and Major Gift Fundraising.
